The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office has released more details of Sunday night's shooting deaths in Freeport, including the names of the people involved.
The Sheriff's Office says it began receiving 9-1-1 calls shortly after 6:30 Sunday night from people reporting multiple shots fired in the area of Dogwood Road in Freeport.
When the deputy arrived on scene at 2472 Dogwood Road in the North Terrace Mobile Home Court in Freeport, he found two people who had died from gunshot wounds.
Through the course of the investigation with the assistance of multiple local and state agencies, including the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, the two people were identified as 55-year-old Craig Freilinger and 41-year-old Sarah Szabo, both of Decorah. Police identify the two as being separated boyfriend and girlfriend
The shooting victims' bodies have been taken to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Des Moines, where an autopsy will be conducted.
The Sheriff's Office says, "We are currently not looking for any other suspects at this time and have no reason to believe the public is in any danger."
