A U.S. District Court judge in Cedar Rapids has ruled that 34-year-old Trevor Satrom, a Decorah native, is competent to stand trial on multiple charges, including Unlawful Possession of Offensive Weapons.
Fayette County authorities searched Satrom's home in Oran in February and, according to court records, found explosive powder, fuses, pipes, a pressure cooker, shredded metal, a flame thrower, body armor, smoke grenades and firearms.
Satrom, a U.S. Navy veteran who served in Afghanistan, is being held in the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Worth, Texas.
