Winneshiek Medical to offer new class in grandparenting

Winneshiek Medical Center will host a free grandparenting 101 class this Thursday from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in WMC conference room B1. Please enter through the east entrance of the hospital, door E1.

The class topics include general safety, car seat basics, infant feeding and breastfeeding, labor and delivery changes and bathing tips.

"The experience of becoming a grandparent is like teaching your child how to ride a bike," explained Denise Duffy, grandma and creator of the grandparent program at WMC. "Sometimes, they will get off balance, and need a little assistance from you, but at some point you will need to let go and allow them to take control on their own."
