Iowa Arts Council to kick off a "Meet the Artists" campaign with a stop in Decorah later this month

The Iowa Arts Council will kick off their new "Meet the Artist" series with an appearance in Decorah by five artists later this month.

Photographer Stephanie Brunia of Oxford, multimedia artist Brent Holland of Des Moines, writer and poet Jennifer Knox of Nevada, performance artist Akwi Nji of Cedar Rapids and visual artist Yun Shin of Orange City plan to share their work with the public and cross-pollinate their ideas with local artists and art enthusiasts.  They will be at ArtHaus in Decorah from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 22nd.

The five were chosen for the The Iowa Arts Council's Artist Fellowship Program, which chooses professional, active Iowa artists who are at a pivotal point in their careers, and who demonstrate exceptional creativity and capacity to contribute to excellence and innovation in Iowa arts, gives them a $10,000 grant, and provides opportunities for them to meet with other artists throughout Iowa.
