Letter to the Editor: Politics is featuring "childish behavior on all sides"

(LeRoy Holm of La Crosse has sent the following Letter to the Editor):

I was not surprised to see that the (Trump for President) sign was vandalized again.  With all the people partying at Toppling Goliath Saturday evening when my family and I came to Decorah, I am sure someone took it upon themselves to take care of the sign once and for all.  It is sad that politics has come down to such childish behavior on all sides.

I was very surprised and disappointed by the amount of drinking and intoxicated people in that area.  It was the last thing I expected to see in Decorah. If it this had been at any other local drinking establishment, I am sure there would have been a police intervention.  I realize that drinking at a brewery or a wine bar is considered to be a higher standard than normal bars, but when I came out of Pizza Ranch and had to help keep a drunk from laying in College Drive, so he does not get hit by a car, there is something wrong.

Don't get me wrong, I see nothing wrong with a little fun, I just got done with Oktoberfest in La Crosse and laughed at the same behavior, but I considered Decorah to be on a higher standard.
