Winneshiek Medical Center suffered a net loss during July, but the financial news in August was improved.
Revenues were up $818,000 from July, with gross patient revenues of $8.3 million. After contractual adjustments and other deductions, net patient revenue was $4,910,144. After operating expenses were deducted, the hospital had a net gain of $408,166. That figure included a $206,000 contribution from the Winneshiek Medical Center Foundation to help pay the cost of a new ambulance.
At the end of the first two months of its 2016-2017 fiscal year, the medical center shows a net gain of $275,258, which is a 2.9 percent margin on its revenues.
