Fire truck purchase has been finalized

The Decorah City Council has approved issuing a $900,000 bond to buy an aerial ladder fire truck from the City of Indianola.

A closing will be held October 14th on the bond issue.  Two local banks--Decorah Bank & Trust and Kerndt Brothers--have agreed to loan the money at a 1.5 percent interest rate.

City officials say they've received a bill of sale and vehicle title for the fire truck.  Delivery of the truck or pick up of the truck will be arranged for later in October.
