Vandals deface a political yard sign in Decorah

A political yard sign in support of Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump was defaced overnight.

The sign is in a yard at the intersection of Locust Road and College Drive.  Someone painted over the "T" in "Trump" with blue paint.

Winneshiek County Republican Party Chair Thomas Hansen says, "It is neither respectful or legal to destroy someone else's property because you disagree with their speech or thoughts."

The Decorah Police Department released a statement saying, "Any kind of vandalism is a crime."
