Three members of the Winneshiek Medical Center Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine staff earn new certifications

Winneshiek Medical Center has announced that physical therapists Sarah Anderson and Dennis Keefe have earned sports clinical specialty certifications, while Megan Lyon has earned orthopedic clinical specialty certification.

Only 3.9 percent of therapists in the United States are orthopedic clinical specialists and less than one percent are sports clinical specialists. There are only 28 sports certified specialty physical therapists and 115 orthopedic certified specialty physical therapists in Iowa.

The certifications involve meeting rigorous standards, developing a long-range career path, and acquiring the advanced study and training required to pass the certification examination.
