Decorah Fire Department releases details of a truck fire Thursday night

The Decorah Fire Department was called to the Super 8 Motel parking lot around 8:00 Thursday night, according to a department news release.

They arrived to find a utility truck owned by Swick Cable Contractors of Cedar Rapids had fire coming from the engine compartment.  The fire was knocked down and brought under control quickly.

No injuries were reported, but the truck chassis appeared to be a total loss. 

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time but it does not appear to be suspicious. 

The Decorah Fire Department was assisted by the Decorah Police Department.
