The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office and Helping Services for Northeast Iowa next month will be hosting a free "Responsible Beverage Server Training."
Registration has begun for the training, which will be held Monday, October 10th, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. in the lower level of T-Bock's Sports Bar and Grill.
By attending this training, retailers learn how to identify if someone is of legal drinking age, how to recognize if someone is intoxicated, and how to comply with Iowa's Law by refusing the sale to those individuals.
These training sessions have been proven to effectively reduce underage drinking and binge drinking rates, while preparing retailers to pass compliance checks.
This event is free for area retailers and is funded by the Comprehensive Substance Abuse Prevention Grant from the Iowa Department of Public Health.
Contact Jennifer Kimber at jkimber@helpingservices.org or (563) 387-1720, extension 104, to reserve a space at the upcoming training or to request more information.
