The South Winneshiek area is one step closer to getting expanded recreational programming for youth and adults.
The NICC Board has approved a 28E agreement between the school, the City of Calmar, City of Ossian and City of Spillville that would create a five-member South Winneshiek Recreational Program Board and a new recreation director position who, as part of NICC's investment in the agreement, would receive office space and support at the Calmar campus.
"Northeast Iowa Community College is extremely pleased to be able to establish this partnership with area communities," said NICC President Dr. Liang Chee Wee. "Collaboratively, we can bring together more children and youth of our communities to form sports leagues without having to travel long distances to participate."
