Minnowa Construction of Harmony was the apparent low bidder Tuesday morning on a job in Story County, Iowa (Ames).  If the bid is accepted by the Iowa Department of Transportation, the project will be biggest contract ever won by the company.

Minnowa Construction submitted a bid of $22,997,143.57 for the new steel girder bridge.  Peterson Contractors was the next lowest bidder, with a bid of $24,045,616.71.  Five other companies also submitted bids.

Minnowa Construction, Inc., is located in rural Harmony, Minnesota.  It was founded in 1984 by Alan and Steve Thorson, then purchased in 2006 by Greg and Keith Bruening of Decorah.
