Site preparation begins at Fairfield Inn & Suites location

Groundbreaking ceremonies will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the former Bluffs Inn site on Highway 9 in Decorah for a new hotel.

Work on the site has already begun, however, with crews removing rock and soil in order to get a more level building site.  Wednesday afternoon's ceremony will be an official observance of that next step in the construction of a new Fairfield Inn & Suites.
