Construction is scheduled to begin Thursday at Trout Run Park

Construction is scheduled to begin Thursday on major improvements to the Bowstring Bridge Park.

Crews will be working on the road access to the park, on the parking lots and on the canoe access to the Upper Iowa River.  The project will cause an intermittent detour of 300 feet of the Trout Run Trail.

The trail will remain open for the Loop de Loop 5K and Half-Marathon on Saturday, September 24th. Trail access after that date will be maintained to the extent it is safe for the public via a temporary rock connection across the roadway grading or temporary mowed trail around the construction site.
