Changes could be in store for mental health/developmental disabilities programs

Since January of 2014, a regional organization called "County Social Services" has been administering mental health and developmental disabilities programs in Winneshiek County.

Several changes are in the works for CSS.  On Tuesday Winneshiek County supervisors were told that one of the administrative offices for the agency will be moving to the building owned by Spectrum Industries.  The move could take place as soon as later this month--depending upon how quickly Internet service fiber optic cables can be laid to the new office.  The cabling will also be run at the same time to the offices of Northeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging.

Also, CSS has begun interviewing people for a position as Winneshiek County Coordinator.  "We need a full-time coordinator (here)," CSS official Sheila Kobliska told supervisors Tuesday.  CSS will be paying all of the costs of salary and benefits for the new coordinator--although the coordinator will be considered a county employee, subject to county employment rules.
