Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department is warning about a scam

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department says a recent computer scam has been reported in the county.

The scam showed up on Facebook in an Ellen DeGeneres link.  Once the link is clicked, a message pops up on your screen "You have been hacked and need to pay $500 to fix and save your computer." 

Sheriff's deputies say this is a SCAM and advise you NOT to give out any money or account information!
