Dug Road Trail is still closed; other portions of Trout Run Trail have reopened

Decorah Parks and Recreation staff continue to clean up Trout Run Trail after last week's flooding.

The trail is now open from the Decorah Fish Hatchery through the Holthaus farm and over the switchbacks, all the way back to the Pulpit Rock Campground.  It is closed for the Dug Road portion, then is open from the west end of Main Street all the way to the intersection of Highway 9 and Montgomery Street.  The trail is closed from that point all the way back to the Fish Hatchery.

Signs are posted on the trail indicating which stretches remain closed. City of Decorah officials are stressing that you should not go around any 'Trail Closed' signs or barricades--the trail is still shifting and could be dangerous.
