Spillville deals with Turkey River flooding

Spillville residents woke up Wednesday to water--a lot of it.

Unofficial reports say as much as 9.5 inches of rain fell in the Spillville area overnight, while one unofficial report in the Calmar area was of 11 inches of rainfall.

With all that water, the Turkey River at Spillville has risen dramatically Wednesday morning, forcing Spillville officials to close the bridge on Highway B-16 over the Turkey River.  The flooding also affected the Inwood Ballroom and several homes along the river.
