It was only a matter of time--Decorah is named the "best hippie town" in Iowa

Toast Decorah's latest accolade with a cup of herbal tea--the website thrilllist.com has named Decorah the "Best Hippie Town" in Iowa.

In choosing Decorah, the website noted, in part, that Decorah is "home to Luther College -- a small liberal arts school with a strong arts program -- and a natural foods co-op, about as common in small Midwestern towns as scuba shops."

In noting that Decorah was home to Toppling Goliath and Pulpit Rock Brewing, it concluded this was "not exactly hippie, (but) don't exactly scream "middle of the corn belt" either."
