Steyer Opera House to be inducted into the Iowa Rock n Roll Hall of Fame

A Decorah landmark will be entered into the Iowa Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Labor Day weekend.

The Steyer Opera House was nominated in the "ballroom" category.  The ballroom was renovated in 2003.  The original pressed-metal ceilings and walls were refurbished and replicated, as were historic lighting fixtures.  Sets of original canvas stage scenery, dating from 1875, were incorporated as design elements in the building.

The 2016 Induction ceremony for Hall of Fame inductees will beheld in Arnold's Park on Sunday, September 4th.
