This September will mark the start of the third year Dr. Paula Carlson has been president of Luther College.
Carlson says the college has been emphasizing "fully integrated learning" during the past two years. That's a concept that focuses on the ways some subjects cross departmental lines. It has led to the creation of two new majors at Luther—data science, approved in April, and neuroscience, pending approval by the Luther College Board of Regents.
Carlson says the college must continue to publicize the "value proposition" for attending college at Luther. That's why it will continue to work this fall on its comprehensive strategic plan.
