First Congregssional District candidates still aren't agreeing about the number of their debates

Republican Rod Blum and Democrat Monica Vernon are still far apart on the question of how many debates they will hold this fall.

As we reported earlier (http://www.decorahnews.com/archived-stories/2016/06/13982.html) Blum had challenged Vernon to hold a debate in Decorah and nine other locations in the district--even though Blum is the incumbent and incumbents usually try to limit the number of debates.

Vernon, however, replied that she wanted to hold just two debates--one in Cedar Rapids and one in Dubuque.

Now Blum has made a counterproposal--six debates in the district, including one in Decorah.  Vernon, however, isn't budging on her position, saying there were only two debates held in 2014, when Blum was first elected to Congress.
