Regional Health Services of Howard County is offering a new program with the focus on seniors. "Senior Life Solutions" assists older adults in developing life skills that help them cope with the challenges of aging, such as memory loss, depression, unresolved grief, deterioration of daily living skills and social withdrawal.
RHSHC Chief Executive Officer Robin Schluter says the new program grew out of the results of the most recent Community Health Needs Assessment, which showed a need for behavioral health services .
Following an individual assessment, participants meet three times per week in a supportive group setting. The program staff includes a board-certified psychiatrist, licensed social workers, a registered nurse, and other professionals. Family members, physicians, or other health professionals may refer individuals to the program, or an individual may inquire on their own.
