The New Minowa Players community theater group will begin performances of "A Man Of No Importance" this Thursday in the NMP theater house.
"A Man Of No Importance" tells the story of Alfie Byrne, a bus driver in 1964 Dublin, Ireland, who directs a semi-professional theatre troupe out of his church. Alfie confronts his inner demons and the forces of bigotry, shame and love. While he fears that his "love that dare not speak its name" will push his friends and family away, he finds that even the most hard-hearted people can overcome their hate with love.
Show times are at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 2:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $10 per adult and $5 per child (11 and under) and can be purchased at the Oneota Co-op, and at the theater one hour prior to each performance.
