Work has begun on the stone arch bridge at Dunning's Springs Park

A project to build a stone arch bridge in Dunning's Springs Park has gotten underway.  The bridge will replace the current wooden bridge.

Quandahl Construction of Decorah has been hired for $75,195 to complete the bridge.  Stone mason Ted Wilson also will be involved in the work.

A cement pillar has been poured for one side of the bridge and a pipe culvert has been installed to temporarily handle the water from the spring.

Decorah Parks & Recreation is using private donations and memorial funds to pay for the project.  Major donations to the project have come from both Deco Products and from Chris and Rhonda Storlie.
