Gas prices sink below $2/gallon in Decorah

It now costs less than $2.00 a gallon to fill your tank with gasoline at service stations in Decorah.

The $1.999 average at four stations surveyed by Gas Buddy is 12 cents a gallon lower than Iowa's statewide average cost of a gallon of gasoline and is 23 cents a gallon lower than the selling price in Chickasaw County.

Gas Buddy says the national average for a gallon of regular gasoline has fallen to $2.13 a gallon, a 3-cent decline from last week.  GasBuddy.com does note that "over 40 percent of the nation's 135,000 gas stations continue to offer a gallon of regular at less than $2 per gallon, while a year ago that's a price that was not possible to find."
