During Nordic Fest, the "Trollheim: Tur til fots" (Tour of Troll Trails) gave fest goers a guided tour of Decorah's natural lands and "natural" troll population.
It is not widely known, except maybe by tour guides, that there are many types of troll species and subspecies. Each is comfortable in different types of environments, such as trees or water, but all of them have an affinity for mischief, in the Norwegian tradition.
The troll tours took visitors on a half-hour bus tour, with a half-mile hike, through the Dunning Springs/Palisades area of Decorah. Each tour guide had different information about the trolls, so each tour was unique.
