The Winneshiek County Fair Distinguished Service Award has been presented to Bonnie Sorum and LeRoy McClintock, both of Decorah.
Bonnie Sorum worked at the Winneshiek County Extension Office for 37 years. During county fair week she spent long hours organizing and adjusting the schedules and compiling all the information.
Bonnie also volunteered in the community and was part of the Girl Scout program. She was one of the founders for the Decorah Athletic Booster Club. Bonnie was married to the late Ordell Sorum and has three children, Erik, Rona, and Andrea and 10 grandchildren.
LeRoy McClintock grew up on a farm in Winneshiek County with dairy cows, pigs, chickens, sheep, and rabbits. He has spent over 50 years helping to lead the Madison 4-H club and during that time also has been a very active volunteer on the Pine Bluff board. Mc Clintock is also a very active member of the Winneshiek County Cattlemen.
