Work should begin next spring on the North Winn Road

A new five-year road plan approved Monday by county supervisors should lead to the start of work on North Winn Road next spring.

The reconstruction of the road could take a total of three years.  But plans call for two road culverts to be replaced next spring and for work on the roadbed to also start then.

The present plan calls for rehabbing the pavement on the southern half of the road in 2018 and the northern part of the road in 2019.  County officials will have to make sure state and federal funding comes through as promised, but for now the road project is set to begin next spring.
