Decorah Police make two arrests

A man from Honduras was arrested by Decorah Police around 2:00 a.m. Sunday.

Police say they stopped 32-year-old Bayron Nahum Contreras Reyes for speeding on Montgomery Street.  The defendant allegedly showed signs of impairment and was arrested and charged with First Offense Operating While Intoxicated.

Also Sunday, just before 9:00 p.m. officers served a warrant on 26-year-old Lester Erickson III of Decorah at 214 Valley View Drive.  Prior to being taken into custody, Erickson ran from police and was apprehended after a short chase.  Erickson was taken into custody on the probation violation warrant and was also charged with Interference with Official Acts.
