The Winneshiek County Convention and Visitors Bureau (WCCVB) has partnered with local video production firm Corbin Group to tell the stories of Winneshiek County through a brand new YouTube channel. The videos will depict the healthy living, natural beauty, local foods, culture and the arts that can be found throughout the Winneshiek County community.
Winneshiek County Tourism Director Charlene Selbee thinks that this type of medium will be more effective in showing people Decorah and the surrounding county.
"Through video, we are reaching people looking for the amazing experiences found in Winnesheik County," Selbee said. "We're delighted to work with a talented local video production firm to create professional videos."
As the Corbin Group specializes in producing videos about resilient communities, the partnership is a perfect fit. Corbin officials also think that video is a good medium to experience a community, if only in a snapshot.
"The combination of sound, movement, emotion and human faces makes for compelling tales," Carolyn Corbin said. "We are delighted to share the narratives of a place we hold very dear."
Advertising opportunities are also available for community business. Organization interested in reaching the tourism market can place ads on the new Visit Decorah channel. Email inquiries director@visitdecorah.com.
