4th of July Traffic Enforcement Program results in 5 arrests and 12 tickets

The results are in from the Decorah Police Department's five-day Special Traffic Enforcement Program over the 4th of July holiday.

Police say they made two narcotics arrests, served two arrest warrants and arrested one driver for drunk driving.  12 tickets were issued--for registration violations, having no insurance, driving with a revoked license, violating stop sign or stop light rules and other miscellaneous reasons.

Police investigated five motor vehicle accidents and assisted nine other motorists.
