The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department's drive to get body cameras for all of its deputies has gotten some help from the Depot Outlet.
Depot Outlet officials have announced they are awarding a $2,000 grant to the Sheriff's Department.
Sheriff Marx says it's difficult to keep up with the newest technology, but he thinks body cameras are becoming standard in law enforcement. The Sheriff's Department's 2016-2017 budget request included $7,000 to pay for some body cameras for deputies. The Depot Outlet grant will be added to that budget.
