The Finance Committee of the Decorah City Council will meet at 7:00 a.m. Thursday at City Hall to discuss just how to finance the purchase of a $900,000 aerial ladder fire truck being sold by the Indianola Fire Department.
City council members held a brief discussion Tuesday evening of the proposed fire engine purchase. They unanimously approved a resolution that gives the city the power to hire a financial advisor, if necessary. But the discussion of financial issues has been left for Thursday's meeting.
Decorah Fire Chief Mike Ashbacher assured the city council the purchase of Indianola's fire truck would be wise. "It looks like a new truck," he told city council members, adding "It all works as advertised."
