Decorah woman is heading to Massachusetts after her ordination ceremony here

Attendees lay hands on newly ordained Reverend Sutherland to celebrate and support her in ministry

63-year-old Lynda Sutherland of Decorah is now "The Reverend Lynda Sutherland."

Her ordination ceremony was held recently at the Northeast Iowa Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Decorah.  Sutherland has accepted a call from the First Parish Unitarian Universalist congregation in Northborough, Massachusetts.
 
Sutherland moved to Decorah six years ago with her partner, Ginger Meyette.  She completed her bachelor degree in Women and Gender studies at Luther College in 2010.  Lynda spent two years at a ministerial internship in Cedar Falls, during which time she was enrolled in divinity school, graduating recently.
