South Winneshiek student wins Iowa DARE essay contest

South Winneshiek student Anna Grace Holthaus has won the Iowa DARE Officers' Association first place essay for 2016.

Anna wrote her DARE essay about what she learned in her DARE classes and how she will use this knowledge to make better decisions in her life.

Anna and her family traveled to the Iowa DARE Officers' Training Conference held in Osage last week. She read her essay at the awards luncheon, then received her award.
