Friday is the deadline to pre-order Nordic Fest's 50th anniversary book

Friday is the deadline for early ordering of the Nordic Fest 50th anniversary book, "Nordic Fest: 50 Years Strong."

The book is now being sold for $50 per copy, but the price will go up to $65 during Nordic Fest.

The book can be ordered in person at the Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce offices on West Water Street during regular business hours Thursday and Friday, or online via credit card at www.nordicfest.com through Monday, July 4th.

In addition to the 304-page book, buyers will receive a DVD featuring archival footage from the first Nordic Fest in 1967.

Net proceeds from the sale of the books will benefit the permanent placement and proper organization of the Nordic Fest archives at the Vesterheim Norwegian American Museum.
