The Winneshiek County Board of Supervisors has accepted the resignation of IT Director "Chopper" Albert.
Albert submitted a letter of resignation last week, saying he did not feel he was appreciated. (http://www.decorahnews.com/news-stories/2016/06/13907.html
At a joint meeting Monday with several City of Decorah officials, county supervisors approved setting up a city/county committee to review the job description for the position and to review all the issues involved in the shared job position. County representatives on the special work group will be GIS/IT Coordinator John Lubke, County Auditor Ben Steines and County Sheriff Dan Marx or a representative from the Sheriff's Department.
At the end of Monday morning's meeting, Decorah Mayor Don Arendt told county supervisors he was "extremely disappointed several county supervisors have not communicated with Chopper." But County Board Chair John Logsdon disagreed, saying, "I'm amazed at the amount of drama (surrounding Albert's resignation)."
