John Klimesh and his wife, Mary, with Winneshiek Medical Center Home Health and Hospice Director Nancy Haberichter and staff nurse Lynnette Kruse.

John "Java John" Klimesh of Decorah looked for an outlet to express his feelings of grief following the death of his brother.  Grief support sessions offered by Winneshiek Medical Center Home Health and Hospice became that outlet. "I found comfort in knowing that I wasn't alone," said John.

Klimesh's creativity led him to making and selling concrete flower pots, stepping stones and bowls.  His connection to the hospice program led him to decide that all proceeds would be donated to WMC Home Health and Hospice.

He makes two to four pots a week, selling for $40, drapery pots for $30, bowl and tray sets for $25 and stepping stones and smaller bowls priced at $10.

To make a purchase, contact John by phone at 563-419-7410 on Monday, Wednesday, or Saturday between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
