The communities of Burr Oak and Frankville will soon be getting warning sirens and they can't beat the price--they'll be free.
Winneshiek County Emergency Government Director Sean Snyder says he's been able to acquire two sirens that the community of Manley is giving away. The sirens will be used in Burr Oak--which doesn't currently have a siren--and in Frankville, where the town's siren has broken.
There will be installation costs, but Snyder says he has applied for grants to cover the estimated $1,000 per installation cost.
