Trial has been set for July 13th in the case of a Decorah man accused of carrying a gun near Crossroads Academy in April.
58-year-old Joseph Gallagher faces three charges--an aggravated misdemeanor of Carrying Weapons and two simple misdemeanors--3rd Degree Harassment and Reckless Use of a Firearm.
Police say Gallagher had approached teachers and made suicidal comments, such as "Have you ever watched someone commit suicide?" After teachers took students inside, gunshots were heard, but Gallagher had not committed suicide. Instead, Decorah Police tracked him down and took him into custody. Gallagher has pleaded "Not Guilty" to the charges.
