Two vehicle accident on Highway 9 does $9,000 in damages

A Decorah man was ticketed for Failure to Stop in an Assured Distance following a two-vehicle accident on Highway 9 at Old Stage Road at 6:00 p.m. Monday.

40-year-old Tony Scheidel told Decorah Police he was traveling east on Highway 9, turned into the turn lane at Old Stage Road and reported his "brakes were not there."  He struck the rear of a vehicle driven by 30-year-old Kim Larue of Decorah.  Larue's car had to be towed from the scene.

Neither drive sought medical attention.
