Ask Mr. Answer Person: "What's new with the Fairfield hotel project?"

Steve asks, "Have you heard any news about the hotel project (on Highway 9)?"

Mr. Answer Person says: We contacted Rebound Hospitality, which is building the Fairfield Inn & Suites on the site of the former Bluffs Inn on Highway 9 near Highway 52.  Rebound Director of Project Development & Management Scott Koester tells us, "We are now in the bid phase for the project."

Rebound pre-selected seven general contractors with hotel construction experience and asked them to bid--which they will.  Says Koester, "We hope to have bids back here in June with a construction start by mid-July with site work."

At the same time as the bid phase for the project has gotten underway, the final plans for the hotel have been sent to Marriott for final review and approval.

In other words, there's a lot of work being done on the project right now--although it's the kind of work that isn't visible.  That should change next month.
