Ask Mr. Answer Person: "Refresh our memory about Neste Valley"

Steve e-mails: "Would you please refresh your loyal readers about Neste Valley--exactly where is it located and what is planned there once our County Conservation Board receives title next year?"

Neste Valley is currently owned by the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation, which is why the best explanation of the Neste Valley project is on a page off INHF's website.  Visit http://www.inhf.org/neste-valley-recreation-area.cfm

As for the location of Neste Valley, you can see from the map that it's surprisingly close to the City of Decorah--just south of Highway 9 and west of Highway 52.

When the Dry Run Trail starts getting built--and that's still off in the future--it will hook into the Trout Run Trail through a culvert underneath Highway 52, right near the Trout Run Trail bridge over Highway 9.
