Winneshiek Medical Center now has contracts with all three Medicaid MCOs

Winneshiek Medical Center has signed a contract with Amerigroup Iowa to cover Medicaid patients insured through Amerigroup.

That means all three Managed Care Organizations handling Iowa's new privatized Medicaid management have signed contracts with the hospital.

WMC Chief Financial Officer Lynn Luloff says the transition to private MCO management has been "complicated."  "It's not quite up to speed yet," she told hospital trustees.  That's due in large part to the fact that each of the three MCOs has different manuals about how claims should be submitted.  Luloff says that's made for a "complicated transition."
