The Northeast Iowa Dairy Foundation and Iowa's Dairy Center will host a new traveling, interactive exhibit, "It Takes an Iowan," starting Wednesday at the Iowa Dairy Center just south of the NICC Calmar campus on Highway 150.
The free exhibit will be displayed in the main hallway at Iowa's Dairy Center. It is a touring exhibit created by Silos & Smokestacks National Heritage Area. (More information about the exhibit can be found at: http://www.silosandsmokestacks.org/educate/ittakesaniowan/
"It Takes an Iowan" focuses on Iowans as leaders in providing food for the world. Says Iowa Dairy Center coordinator Megan Kregel, "Everyone depends on agriculture, from food to fiber. After all, agriculture and its related industries pump $112.2 billion a year into Iowa's economy and create one out of every five jobs in the state."
