Decorah resident Bruce Divers has approved a plea agreement to charges that arose from a school lockout in Decorah in April.

Divers has entered "guilty" pleas to two counts of 2nd Degree Harassment and one count of 3rd Degree Harassment.  The charges were filed after Divers sent e-mails to two teachers at Carrie Lee School and posted a Facebook message containing threats against the teachers.

Divers was sentenced to one year in prison on each of the 2nd Degree Harassment charges and 30 days on the 3rd Degree Harassment charge.  In exchange for his guilty pleas, those prison sentences have been suspended and Divers has been placed on two years probation.

The sentencing agreement calls for Divers to have no contact for five years with the teachers involved in April's incident.  He will also pay a $380 fine.

Decorah school officials put all schools in the district on lockout on Monday, April 11th, after they learned of the Facebook posting and threatening e-mails.
