Decorah Police Department to add one officer in August

Decorah Police Chief Bill Nixon says his department has begun accepting applications for another police officer.

The 2016-2017 city budget approved earlier this year included funds for adding one officer to the police department.  Because of that, Decorah Police will be accepting applications through Friday, June 3rd.

Nixon says the applications will be screened and interviews conducted and a new police officer should be hired in August.
