May is "Cemetery Appreciation Month"

May has been proclaimed "Cemetery Appreciation Month" in Winneshiek County.

Winneshiek County supervisors signed the proclamation Monday, then posed afterward for a photo with members of the Pioneer Cemetery Commission.

The proclamation calls cemeteries "sacred, historic outdoor museums."
